Review Policy

The Scifi and Fantasy Reviewer is a single-reviewer blog that primarily focuses on the following genres:

• Horror
• Science-Fiction
• Fantasy
• Alternate History
• Historical Fiction

I am unlikely to be interested in reviewing a title if it does not fall into those categories – but would encourage authors to contact regardless to discuss further.

I primarily accept review copies in eBook format (.mobi preferred) but do accept physical copies if that format is specifically requested by author or publisher.

I am happy to accept titles from independent and small/niche publishers as well as larger publishers, as well as indie and self-published authors. I will also happily review titles with LGBT+ themes or from LGBT+ authors.

I will not review any title that has been created with the involvement of generative AI, including the use of AI to create text or cover images. Any such review requests will be ignored.

There is no charge – and never will be – for reviewing a title. However I cannot ever guarantee when a review will be published, or its specific length. If you have a specific publication deadline you are hoping to meet, then please state this in your contact email. If I have not replied within ten days, please resubmit as I may have missed your email.

If you have heard from me, please do not send additional emails requesting when the review is completed – they will be done when they are done.

When emailing, please include the following when possible:

Your name, email and website address.
Are you the author, publisher or publicist.
The name of the book, cover, page count and brief spoiler-free synopsis/blurb.
